A new design promises clearer audio and safer listening for people who spend time in loud environments
Loop’s Experience 2 Plus earplugs are drawing attention for offering noise reduction that keeps music and speech clear rather than muffled.
With growing concern about hearing loss among regular gig-goers, this model aims to give users a safer way to enjoy loud spaces.
Exposure to sustained sound over 100 decibels can damage hearing in minutes. Many people rely on basic foam plugs that distort audio or prove uncomfortable.
A product that protects the ear while preserving fidelity could help more people adopt hearing protection at concerts festivals and in everyday noisy settings.
Acoustic design built for clarity
The Experience 2 Plus reduces sound by about 17 decibels through a hollow channel and resonator designed to mimic the ear’s natural filtering. This structure shapes incoming sound evenly so music and speech remain clear.
The earplugs arrive with silicone and foam tips in several sizes and an optional Loop Mute insert that adds a further 3 decibels of reduction.
They are reusable and simple to clean. The circular design sits securely in the outer ear which helps them stay in place during movement or long events.
Performance in loud settings
In small packed venues users report that the earplugs cut volume by nearly 20 decibels while keeping the character of the music intact. That drop is enough to prevent common after-effects such as ringing or headaches.
The model’s real-world performance reflects the wider evidence that concert-level sound requires protection to avoid short and long-term damage.
Benefits beyond music
People living with traffic noise or emergency sirens have found the earplugs useful at night with some noticing better sleep quality on tracking apps.
Others use them to concentrate in shared spaces where background noise can intrude on work.
The Experience 2 Plus sits between Loop’s quieter and lighter variants. Loop Quiet offers up to 26 decibels of reduction for heavier noise and Loop Engage provides around 16 decibels when clearer conversation is needed.
All models depend on good fit and correct insertion for consistent results.
Expert view
“Designs that preserve natural sound make people much more likely to wear hearing protection,” said Micaela Stonestreet, a Clinical Audiologist at Hearology®. “We see many patients with early signs of noise damage that could have been avoided with reliable everyday protection. While custom-made noise protection is typically our recommendation for the best possible fit and comfort, the most important factor is simply using hearing protection. Loops offer an affordable, instant-fit alternative.”
As more users adopt the use of reusable earplugs the hope is that consistent protection will become a normal part of enjoying loud experiences without risking long-term harm.
